Things I am thinking, but don't want to vocalize
- Sometimes I wish I was straight.
- If I didn't believe in God, I would kill myself.
- I just wish I could FINALLY be successful at something, but again, I disappoint.

I'm still laughing about this!
So I got a text message from my friend Katey the other day. Katey works in politics and here is the message I got from her....

"So I'm at a meeting and there is a "Resolution 227" and all I could think of was "a resolution to let Pearl sit in the window." I died. I literally laughed out loud on the subway like an idiot.

Got 'em
Got my tickets for both the revival of Bye Bye Birdie and Carrie Fisher's one woman show called Wishful Drinking at Studio 54. And the best part is, I got both tickets for a total of $60! I love having connections and discounts for stuff like this :)

Appointment
I have a Doctor's appointment next Tuesday to get this lump looked at. I ended up getting the day off, but it comes with a lot of stipulations, so its not a total win, but at least I got the time off.

Any ideas?
I want to go on a vacation somewhere this weekend. Some place cheap but entertaining. Or does any one want a visit from me? :) Maybe I'll go back to Arizona, maybe I'll go to Chicago, maybe I'll go somewhere I haven't been before. Any ideas?

It's amazing
It's amazing how many people contact you when they think you are dead or injured. But no, I was not on that plane that crashed in the Hudson. I was in DC all day, the only way it affected me was that my flight back to LaGuardia was delayed. But I can't tell you how many friends, relatives and even a few exboyfriends have contacted me to make sure I am ok. I am fine everyone, I am safe and sound at home.

Thank you to those who checked up on me ;-)

New Pic!
I took this a few weeks ago when I was in Detroit for the opening of the new airport. And yes Michigan people, I was out there, but I was at the airport almost 24 hours in a row, so I had zero downtime :(

Anyway, I was glad the work was all over, as you can tell in this pic. The new terminal out there is GORGEOUS.

As with any pics I post, comments are always welcome :)

Just a few words...
I'm leaving this unfiltered for a reason...

I just wanted to make a couple things clear. I don't post a lot like I use to, mainly because I never stop working! :) But, thats my choice, because I love my job. When I am home I am usually sleeping, checking work things through my home computer, or talking to Levi on the phone. When I am on the road, I get off the plane, I go to the hotel, maybe get some food, work on work related things, then go to bed. And usually the next day I wake up, check my work e-mails and then go to the airport and interview all day.

So, with that being said, I am busy outside of LJ. That doesn't mean that I don't read everyone's journal. Yes, if you are on my friends list I read YOUR POSTS. Thats why I have you on my list. So, just because I don't comment every single day, 20 times a day, doesn't mean that I don't care about whats going on in your life! I just don't have anything good to say these days that isn't about work :)

This concludes my PSA about why I don't comment and post a lot anymore :)

The Big Easy
I am going to New Orleans on Monday for work and coming home Tuesday night. I've never been before, but I don't think I'll be able to enjoy much of the city, which is pretty standard with most of my work trips. I have to fly to Charlotte at 6:00 AM and then catch my flight to New Orleans from there. I think I arrive in New Orleans around 6:00 PM or so. Then the next day will all be spent at the airport, then I leave back for Charlotte at 2:30 PM to catch my flight back to Phoenix. I'll be back here around 9:00 PM.

I might try and do a few things in New Orleans the day I arrive, we'll see how I feel after traveling all day. But, everytime I think of New Orleans, I think of the episode of Designing Women when they go there. Specifically, I think of the clip below...

This never fails to crack me up! Its just something about the way Charlene says "Do you think it's the voodoo?" always makes me laugh.

Am I the only one who remembers this song?

Joel posted this video on his blog recently and I had completely forgotten about it, but this use to be my jam! I still remember the spinning the heads at the beginning of the video. Since he brought this back into my memory I've been rockin' out to it in my car.

What's your memory?
Taken from piscesboy311

if you read this, if your eyes are passing over this right now, even if we don't speak often, please post a comment with a memory of you and me. It can be anything you want -- good or bad. When you're finished, post this little paragraph on your blog and be surprised (or mortified) about what people remember about you.

Off To Chicago!
Ok Folks, the Philly leg of my first work tour is done, it was less than stellar. Next time I am budgeting to have more money so I can go downtown and enjoy the city. And my hotel was subpar, so next time I am saving more so I can get a better hotel. One with elevators that work!

Hopefully Chicago will be better :)

My, how times change!
I got my pictures developed from my SF trip today, and I decided to post a "then and now" picture of Aly and I. We've changed a lot in the 13 years that we have known each other!

SF Trip Day 1
Today was very low key, but it was good. Slept till around 9 am, got up and had some tea with Aly and lots of good conversation. Then I hopped online to see what James (terraplanner)was doing and if he wanted to get together. I made my way down to Palo Alto via BART and Caltrain, and met him for lunch at Pluto's. The sandwich was delicious and we had some good conversation, then went back and hung out at his apartment until around 4 PM and then I came back out here to Aly and Paul's. We had dinner at a Thai restaurant and I had my first glass of Thai Iced Tea, which I enjoyed :) Then we went to the movies tonight, and just got back from that.

No idea what I am doing tomorrow, but I think Aly and I are gonna make our way into the city.

I'm here!
So around 6:45 I made into San Francisco. From there aly_monster and Paul and I went to dinner at this italian restuarant, I can't remember the name but the service was great and the food was excellent. Now I am in my pajamas and relaxing. No real set plans for the weekend, hopefully meet up with terraplanner at some point, and meet Marie from the AppleOne office in San Francisco, but no plans other than that. I'm having fun already :)

Fanning the flames
So I think this Starbucks that I have been going to in the mornings must be the gay Starbucks in the area. Yesterday I noticed a few gay people here, but today its like a brush fire in here! And I got cruised hardcore by this guy in front of me in line wearing his little Catholic High School t-shirt. Not only did he look me up and down and stop at my crotch, when he turned to face away from me he blatantly stuck his ass out at me. And if the guy behind the counter called me "Hun" one more time I was gonna have to correct him.

I applied for 6 jobs today, I have a phone interview at 1 today, gotta be at the airport by 2:45, already checked in online last night, I packed SO much last night, I'm all ready to go :)

Currently I'm watching an interview going on at the table next to me. And what do you know, the guy being interviewed sounds like a homosexual, this definitely must be the gay Starbucks for Chandler.

Getting stuff ready
So I am sitting here in Starbucks right now, doing my daily applying for jobs. I have been making myself still get up everyday and leave the house like I would go to work, then come here and apply for jobs and people watch for awhile. If I just stay at home, I'll just get lazy, and depressed, and I can't do that. Have had a few responses to my resume, but I don't think people are really reading my resume, just seeing a few highlighted words and phrases and responding based on that. I know plenty of us at AppleOne use to do that when we would search careerbuilder for those hard to fill jobs, so I really can't fault these people.

Gotta do laundry and pack tonight for San Francisco, I am getting excited about this trip! I haven't seen Aly in close to 11 years, and I've never been up that way, so that'll be good too. I have a few things planned as far as what I wanna do, but mostly I am just gonna play it by ear :)
